1999 July 08: "HÜLSI" wins in BUNG's Gameboy Coding Competition the 3rd Price!

July 04: The Size of the level is increased by 25%. Now the levelsize is exact the size of the DOS-Version. To see all the Level on the screen, the level is automatically scrolled. On the beginning of a level (or if you press the "B"-Button) the whole level is shown. Now there ar 25 level. The first 18 level are altered to match exactly the DOS-Version.

June 30: Release Alpha 7 was sent to the BUNG Competiton.

June 20: Now this page has links to the tools and infos I use for GameBoy-Development.

June 19: Now "Hülsi" dies more dramatically. You could see the shoots from FireBird and Medusa. There are three more level.

June 12: Now with Screenshots und english descriptions (or something that's try to sound like english ;-) "Hülsi" can be played on an old bw-GameBoy too: the red, green und blue balls are than marked with "R", "G", annd "B"

June 07: "HÜLSI" now with passwords! It's not neccesary to begin every time at the first level. Write down the code, wich is given after finishing a level and input this code the next time you play: Using LEFT and RIGHT you choose the position and using UP and DOWN you change the value. START let the things begin ...

June 29: "HÜLSI" now with sound (and less bugs)!

May 19: "HÜLSI" now complete playable! Now it's possible to play the game. In the beginning you have five lifes. The shots of the enemies (firebirds and medusa) are not yet visible, but they will kill you! There are walls, wich will come and go. There is now Documentation in the Download-Section.

May 17: "HÜLSI" for the GameBoy is here! I've started to make something I've wished for a long time: to port my "HÜLSI-Trilogy" to the GameBoy.

The first success of the first part was in May 1990. "Hülsi" was the Opener of the german Disk-Mag "DISC-EDV-REPORT". Of course a DOS-Version playable on CGA- and EGA-cards.There were 20 Levels and a Level-Editor. Part 2 and part 3 came later in 1990 and 1991. Because we asked the Readers of the Mag to send us selfmade Levels, I now have a great number of usefull (and an even greater number of useless) levels for the games.

Then came Windows and a Windowsversion of the Games. The player now was named "Bobby".

Later the DOS-Version got a new package and was sold without Magacine.

Finaly there was a CD-ROM-Version of "Bobby", wich was sold in Bookshops and Warehouses.

And now the GameBoy Color makes it possible to program the Game for this wonderfull handhgeld console. The aktual version will be here in the Download-Area. The final product (more than 80 Level) also will be sold in a special edition on cartdridge.

The Original DOS-Version is also in the Download-Area. It will run under Windows 95/98 in Fullscreen-Mode. Because the description is in German, here is how to play:

Please choose on the Startscreen "E" (meaning 16-color-EGA in opposite to the the 4-color-CGA-Mode.) Use the cursor-keys to move around with the man to the door in the next level. The door will be opened, if you take the last Ball. Sometimes there are green "Pöppel" (Figures for playing Chinese Checkers). In the DOS-Version you must shoot them with an energy-egg. You alwas get an energy-egg, if you take a blue ball. (In the gameboy-version you just walk over the "Pöppel", if you have the energy of a blue ball). In some levels there are walls, wich will be somtimes there and sometimes not. The red walls will appear, if you take a red ball, and the green walls ... And then there are two more enemies: The FireBird controls the direction he looks. It will awake, if the LAST ball is taken away. The Medusa controls all four direction and she will awake, if you take the FIRST ball! But you can avoid the shots of the enemies, placing the green chests the right way. Enjoy!

HELP: Please help me to a better english. Mail me a better version of the texts of this page. Thank you!
